Unpacking Influence: China’s Impact on US Strategy in the Middle East
New Episode of The China-MENA Podcast
The latest episode of the China-MENA podcast is out. I spoke with Dana Stroul from the Washington Institute for Near East Policy about how China’s expanding presence in the Middle East affects US regional policy. Dana recently returned to WINEP after serving from 2021-2023 as deputy assistant secretary of defense for the Middle East, the Pentagon’s top civilian official with responsibility for the region.
Given where we are right now, it’s a very timely and relevant conversation that I really enjoyed. We covered a lot of ground and I think you’ll appreciate Dana’s thoughtful insider’s account of how the policy community in Washington is thinking about China in the Middle East.
This will be the last episode of the podcast for a little while as we take a break from podcasting for the summer. I’m alrealy making my wishlist of guests and topics for season 3 - if you have any suggestions please send them my way.
