Iranian perceptions of China

Anoush, much like Kanye or Beyonce, is such a big deal in his field that if you say the first name everyone knows. When I was thinking about doing a China-GCC PhD back in 2009, he was the first person I talked to that got it; most reactions were puzzled, as in ‘Why would you spend so much time on something so inconsequential?’ Anoush had already been doing a lot of hard thinking about the convergence of Asia and the Middle East, and his work on Asianization has been laying the foundation for a lot of the great work that we’ve been seeing lately.
